Delta Spirit - Ode to Sunshine

I'm currently doing some dumb homework to finish up the semester, and I threw on this album just the jam a bit while i get through 76 questions. Delta Spirit is definitely one of my favorite bands out there right now. This band shows they don't need a bunch of stuff to make a good album, they just need some instruments, and some heart felt rock jams. I've discovered lately that pretty much anything that sounds super raw, I'm probably gonna really enjoy it. If anyone thinks my blog is cool, or what I talk about is cool, you should download this album.

Taking Back Sunday

Band of Horses on Friday, now it's Taking Back Sunday on Saturday. Two sold out Marquee shows in a row. The tour was for the 10 year anniversary of their debut "Tell All Your Friends" coming out. They played about 8 or 9 awesome songs, and then played Tell All Your Friends all the way through. I've probably never sang louder in my whole life. Adam Lazarra, the singer, is pretty much the coolest person in the world. It was my third time seeing them, and definitely still great. Money well spent! Too bad I can't talk today though...

Band of Horses

Last night i got to watch Band of Horses play a sold out show at the Marquee. I've seen somewhere around a few hundred bands, and i think this was in the top 5. Maybe top 3. They sounded literally perfect. Band of Horses was originally supposed to perform with Willie Nelson in Tempe for the Railroad Revival tour, but the tour got cancelled, so they moved the show to the much to small for them, Marquee Theater. They had no real plans, or obligations for the show, so they just got to jam for like 2 hours and play around 25 songs and just have fun. And they went extra hard because it was the second time their summer tour has been cancelled, stopping them from playing in Arizona for 5 years. All in all, they made me the most stoked I've ever been at a show. They had awesome guitar tones. The singer Ben sounds exactly the same as the record. Their keyboardist/guitarist/vocalist/shredder/insaneguy Ryan Monroe soloed up and down the piano, and guitar, and can sing as high as Ben. Not fair. And the drummer just smiled the whole time, which is so awesome. GAH. Go see them.

Woah.

The Heist

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - The Heist

My dude Ben just got me in to this guy, and holy balls this album is nuts. I'm not reviewing it yet, but I'm definitely gonna talk about how rad it is. Macklemore isn't on a label, he's pretty much independent. All the cd's you buy from him come from his house. The lyrics are deep, the beats are nasty, it's great. His hard work and success inspires me everyday. BUY THIS.

SMOOTH JAMS

I heard this album, and this dude for the first time ever like 13 minutes ago. I can already tell you that this is gonna be my freaking jam, for at least a few months. I wish I was a smooth black RnB artist.

Dude.

Yesterday one of my main dudes (whom I won't say until he wants) wrote blog post about me. I didn't know he was doing it at all, and right before i went in my room to pass out last night, i read it. It wasn't one of those dumb "i got your back bro" posts, or like one of those "we've been best friends for like 10 years" posts, or even like "dude remember that time we blah" posts. This was a genuinely heartfelt message to me that he wasn't obligated to write at all, and i had no clue anyone looked at me like this, or knew me this well. I'm honored to be the subject of the letter, and glad to have a bud like him. Maybe someday you guys will see the post i'm talking about, maybe not. I hope all of you find a friend as good as him.

Two posts for monday!

Sorry if the title of this thing offends you tumblr lovers. I actually have a tumblr too. It's pretty sweet actually. OFTHESKY. I don't have anything against tumblr. I just haven't thought of a cooler, more clever, or funnier name yet for the blog.

David Ramirez - Stick Around

This is probably the best music video I've ever seen. I really hope that you watch this, and that it makes your whole day 10 times better.

Handwritten

I'm totally obsessed with this album right now. Every song is so solid, and Brian Fallon is basically the coolest ever. His voice jams hard. I love their guitarist Alex Rosamilia. His leads are so catchy in this album, especially on "Handwritten", "Keepsake", and "Blue Dahlia." The harmonies in "45" are way rad ". National Anthem is probably on of the best songs they're ever done.

And this is the first album ill rate on this blog.

Rating - 8.5/10
Best song - Bonus Track Blue Dahlia

First Post

Hello,

I'm Justin. This is a blog i'm making about... nothing. This blog is pretty much whatever I'm thinking about, doing at the moment, feeling, and interested in. You can read it if you want, there could occasionally be something cool on here. But it's not a tumblr. I won't be reblogging pictures. This is 100% me and what i write. My good bud Dominic Puccio inspired me to make a blog, so we'll see what happens.

P.S. Every post after this won't be this lame. The first post just has to be official.

BAM.
